We are celebrating at Edmont this week, following the announcement that our third year apprentice, Ayrton Grant, has beaten competition from up and down the country to win a coveted national award.
The National Association of Shopfitters’ Final Year Apprentice Award saw candidates being assessed on categories such as practical ability, reliability, initiative and much more, before a winner was chosen from member companies across the UK. Ayrton received top marks in many categories, winning him the top spot.
A special ceremony was held at the Kensington Roof Gardens in London at the National Association of Shopfitters’ Autumn Conference in London on Wednesday 26th October. Our Managing Director, Craig Morton, commented, “We are extremely proud of Ayrton – especially as this is a national award, so the competition will have been especially tough. It’s a credit to his hard work and to our Joinery Workshop team that he has achieved this.”
Edmont employ a number of apprentices, and have supported apprenticeship programmes for many years. Joinery & HR Director, Melanie Fyans, explains, “As a company we really believe in the value of apprenticeships – we know that taking the time to encourage, train and support someone in the early stages of their career can not only help the apprentice, but also help us as a business to nurture highly skilled employees. We always go above and beyond to support our apprentices and where possible, we try to provide them with future a career path within the company. That’s why we are so proud of Ayrton’s achievement, as well as the hard work and support provided by our team.”
