Edmont pledge support to ‘Giving Terry a Chance’ campaign
Edmont support many different local charities and events in the local community. But few are closer to the hearts of our team than the recently launched campaign supporting Terry Playle, who has worked for one of our major bricklaying subcontractors here at Edmont. Terry’s friends and family are joining together in a quest to raise £50,000 to get to a clinic in Russia for potentially life-changing treatment for Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (SPMS).
37-year-old dad, Terry, was diagnosed with SPMS almost 5 years ago, and has since been diagnosed with lesions in the brain following extensive testing. Terry and his family are hoping to raise the funds to seek a potential treatment called a Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT). This is where infant cells from Terry’s bone marrow are taken from his body, followed by an intense chemotherapy treatment, and then replaced in order to regenerate a new, healthy immune system.

Terry’s friends and family have organised some fantastic fundraising events in the local community too, for those who would like to come along and show your support. Details below:
Terry’s Family Fun Day – Saturday September 22nd at 2pm Liden Community Centre
The first fundraising event for Terry is well underway and we are inviting everyone to come along to a family fun day on Saturday 22nd September 2018.
The day will involve:
- Face painting
- Glitter tattoos
- Football shoot out
- Take your photo on a big digger
- Bouncy castle
- Kids games
- Ice cream van
- Pick n mix stand
- BBQ
- Cupcakes for sale
- Children’s’ tombola
- Raffle with fantastic prizes up for grabs including family days out, restaurant vouchers, cinema vouchers, alcohol and much much more
- Live music
- Steve Jons Disco

Danceathon to raise money for Terry Playle – Saturday, October 6th at 1pm at Liden Community Centre
PLEASE COME AND JOIN US TO RAISE MONEY FOR A VERY GOOD CAUSE. It’s going to be a fun two hours of dance, bounce dance fit, zumba, clubbercise and dance fit. There will also be a kids bounce dance fit class at 11.45-12.30. All entry fees to be confirmed for children aged 5-12. The adult class will be available for 13+
